1.All ships have a natural Hiding Factor(HF). This factor is directly multiplied by the opposite side’s Theoretical Scout Range(TSR) and get the Actual Detected Range(ADR).
The calculating formula:ADR = TSR*(1-HF)
In case of Shiratsuyu(JP tier 5 DD), its HF is about 0.42. That is to say a Shiratsuyu staying still is detected by other side ships with the TSR of 5000m in 2900m distance.
2.Coating increases camouflage effect 300m. It is calculated before the HF.
The calculating formula:ADR adding coating = (TSR-300)*(1-HF)
In case of Shiratsuyu again, if it applys a coating, the ADR = (5000-300) x (1-0.42) =2700m
3.The Commanders’ Disguise Effect(CDE) acts on the HF.
The calculating formula:ADR = TSR*{1- (HF + CDE)}
With no coating Shiratsuyu as an example, if it has the Commander Felix Von Luckner(Elite, has the Enchanced Disguise II skill which increases disguise by 2%), its ADR is about 2600m.
4. According to the Moving speed, there is a Hiding Penalty of Moving (HPM)
The calculating formula:ADR = TSR*(1-HF+HPM)
The penalty from slow to fast, level 1 is 2%, level 2 is 4%, level 3 is 6%, level 4 is 8%.
The Shiratsuyu, if moves ahead in half speed, then the enemy with the TSR of 5000m will find you in the distance of 3100m.
5.Hiding penalty of firing(HPF)
The calculating formula:ADR =TSR*(1-HF+HPF)
Different weapons hava different HPF.Take the destroyer as an example,
The main gun penalty (whether shooting in salvo or round , or how long the firing interval is) 10%.
Torpedo launching penalty 6%
Air defense weapon penalty 2%
In case of Shiratsuyu, when it fires motionless, the enemy with 5000m TSR will see it in 3400m.
6.Smoke bombs provide the HF decreases since 100% to 0% from the center to the edge of the smoke area.
Due to the speciality of smoke bombs, the calculation formula of firing and moving in smoke bombs will be different, Simple multiplication does not apply.
7.Commander Skill:
Cunning (Kimura Kazo,Mikasa Shotaro) and EMI Disruption(Kimura Kazo)’s effect is directly multiplied.
For example, an original (no accessories leveling up) Shiratsuyu loses detected distance 3400-2900=500m
When cunning is actived, loss of range is reduced by 15%, that is 500*(1-15%)=425m.
So the ADR after firing is changed from 3400 m to 3300m (However, no eggs....)
